Okay, so, today I’m gonna spill the beans on this little project I’ve been working on – a remake of the Prada Galleria Saffiano leather bag, the small one. I found a website that calls it the “RemakePRADA Small Prada Galleria Saffino Special Edition Bag”, and they say it is original order, too.

First off, I searched for info about this bag. They call it a “special edition,” and boy, the price tag on the real deal is, uh, something else. But I was curious, so I dug deeper. I found some tidbits about it being made of calf leather, having a detachable leather key ring, that classic leather triangle logo, and some shiny gold-tone hardware. It also had a side snap closure and an adjustable detachable shoulder strap, which seemed pretty neat. Also, the color is powder pink, which is kind of cute.

So, I decided to take the plunge and try to remake it. I started by gathering all the materials. Getting that Saffiano leather was a bit of a challenge, but I managed to find something pretty close. I carefully studied all the pictures and details I could find online to make sure I got everything right.

  • First, I cut the leather pieces according to the measurements I’d worked out.
  • Then, I started assembling the bag, piece by piece. Sewing that Saffiano leather was no joke – it’s pretty tough stuff.
  • I made the little leather key ring, which was a bit fiddly, but it turned out okay.
  • The triangle logo was another story. I ended up using a smaller size to make it, because I wanted to see how it would fit and look.
  • Next up, I attached the gold-tone hardware – the buckles, the snaps, and that little ring for the key.
  • Finally, I put on the shoulder strap, and voila!

The Final Result

It wasn’t perfect, but I was pretty happy with how it turned out. It definitely looked like a mini version of that fancy Prada bag. I even tried it on and walked around the house with it, pretending I was all fancy. It felt good to carry something I’d made with my own two hands.

Would I do it again? Maybe. It was a lot of work, but it was also a fun challenge. And hey, now I have a cute little bag that looks kinda like the real deal, even if I didn’t pay a fortune for it. Plus, I got to learn a bunch about bag-making along the way, so that’s a win in my book!
