Well, let me tell ya ’bout this here YSL Envelope Bag. Folks call it fancy, but to me, it’s just a purse, a right pretty one at that. But seems like some folks get all worked up about it, wanna know if it’s worth the fuss and the money, ya know?
I heard some city folks talkin’, they say YSL, that’s Yves Saint Laurent, sounds like some French fella. He started makin’ clothes and bags way back when, in 1961, they say. Now, this Envelope bag, it ain’t that old. Some young fella, Anthony Vaccarello, he made it in 2018, for a fancy vacation thing they call “Resort.”
This bag, it’s got a flap, ya know, like a letter, an envelope, that’s why they call it that, I guess. And it’s got a chain, so you can sling it over your shoulder. They sew it up all fancy-like, with these zig-zaggy lines, they call ’em chevron quiltin’. And of course, it’s got that YSL thingy on it, so everyone knows it ain’t no cheap knock-off.
Now, I seen some other bags, Chanel they call ’em. Folks fightin’ over them too, sayin’ one’s better than the other. Some like that Timeless one, but this Envelope, it’s got its own thing goin’ on. It ain’t like those old grandma purses, it’s kinda modern, ya know? Even my grandaughter, she likes it, says it’s “chic”. I don’t even know what that word means but it must be good.
They got different sizes too, like the chain wallet one, small enough for just your money and cards, and then a bigger one, the medium size, for stuffin’ all your junk in. They make ’em out of lambskin, soft and smooth, feels nice on your hand. But I reckon you gotta be careful with it, wouldn’t wanna scratch it up on the fence post, ya know.
Some folks say these bags, they hold their value, like gold or somethin’. They call it an “investment,” like buyin’ land or a cow. I don’t know about that, seems like a lot of money for somethin’ you just carry around. But I guess if you got the money, and you like it, that’s all that matters. My old cloth bag has served me just fine all these years, but these young’uns got different ideas about what’s useful and what ain’t.
- YSL’s History: Started by Yves Saint Laurent back in 1961. A big deal in the fashion world. Folks from all over know the name.
- The Envelope Bag: Made in 2018, flap style, chain strap, chevron quilting, YSL logo. It’s got all the bells and whistles these young’uns like.
- Different Sizes: Chain wallet and medium size, somethin’ for everyone’s needs. You can get one for just your pennies or one big enough to carry your whole life, I reckon.
- Material: Lambskin, soft and fancy. But you gotta treat it nice, it ain’t no workin’ bag. This ain’t the kinda bag you take out to the fields, that’s for sure.
- Value: Some say it’s an investment, holds its value over time. I don’t know about all that fancy talk, but it sounds like you could sell it later if you wanted to.
They sell these bags online too, on some fancy website, Saint Laurent it’s called. You can just sit right there in your house, click a few buttons, and they send it right to ya. Times sure have changed, haven’t they? Back in my day, you had to go to the store, and even then, you mostly just bought what you needed, not all these fancy extras.
So, is this YSL Envelope bag worth it? Well, that depends on what you’re lookin’ for, I reckon. If you want a pretty purse, and you got the money to spare, then maybe it is. But if you’re just lookin’ for somethin’ to carry your stuff, well, there’s plenty of cheaper options out there. Me? I’ll stick with my old cloth bag, it’s done me just fine all these years. But that don’t mean I can’t appreciate a nice-lookin’ thing when I see it. This YSL Envelope bag, it sure is a looker.
And that’s all I gotta say ’bout that. Don’t go wastin’ your money if you ain’t got it, but if you do, well, spend it how you please. Just remember, a bag’s a bag, whether it costs five dollars or five thousand. It’s what’s inside that counts, right?
Anyways, that’s what I think about it, take it or leave it. I got chores to do, can’t be sittin’ around here all day talkin’ about purses. Them chickens ain’t gonna feed themselves, ya know.
