So, I got this idea to remake that fancy Yves Saint Laurent YSL LE CARRé SATCHEL BAG. Yeah, the real deal. It’s a mouthful, I know, but really, it’s just a fancy purse. I got to thinking, why not try to make one myself?
First, I scoured the internet, you know, just looking at pictures of this thing. Found some on the Saint Laurent online store. They call it the BLACK LE CARR satchel in BOX SAINT LAURENT.
- I started by gathering my materials.
- I found some real nice leather.
- Then, I needed thread, a buckle, and all that jazz.
- I got some tools, too, like a cutter and some needles.
I studied those pictures real close. This bag, it’s got a flap on the front, you know, to keep your stuff safe. And that gold thing, the logo, I guess you’d call it. I made sure I got all those details right. There’s some fancy stitching on it, too. They call it “carr-quilted overstitching”. Sounds fancy, but it’s just a pattern, really.
Making Process
I cut the leather, real careful. Got to measure twice, cut once, my grandpa always said. Then, I started stitching. That took a while, let me tell you. My fingers were sore, but I kept at it. I wanted it to look just right. I even tried to copy that quilted pattern. It’s not perfect, but hey, I’m no professional.
Next, I put the whole thing together. Attached the flap, the strap, and that gold buckle. I found a similar one online, not the real deal, of course.
The Final Touch
Finally, I finished it! It took a few days, but I did it. It’s not exactly like the real YSL bag, but I’m pretty proud of it. It’s got that same classic look, you know? And it holds all my stuff, which is the whole point of a purse, right?
Now, if you’ve got money to burn, go ahead and buy the real thing. But if you’re like me, and you like making things with your own two hands, give it a try! It’s a fun project, and you’ll have a nice bag at the end of it. Maybe not a YSL, but it’ll be yours.
