Remake Yves Saint Laurent YSL JUNE BOX BAG: Where to Find It in Specialty Stores Right Now

Okay, so, I’ve been lookin’ at this YSL June Box Bag for a good while now. You know the one, right? It’s got that fancy Cassandre logo thing and the diamond quilting. Yeah, that’s the one. I finally thought, “Why not?” and decided to try and make one myself. I mean, I’ve seen folks call it a “remake,” like they made it again, but whatever. It’s a bag, and I wanted to see if I could do it.

First, I had to get all my stuff together. Needed some leather, thread, you know, the usual stuff for makin’ a bag. I ain’t no expert, but I’ve messed around with leather before. I spent a good chunk of time just staring at pictures of the real YSL June Box Bag online, tryin’ to figure out how it was all put together. It’s a boxy little thing, so I figured the main part would be like makin’ a, well, a box!

I started by cuttin’ out the leather pieces. I made a pattern based on the pictures I found, kinda guessin’ at the sizes. Then came the sewin’ part. I stitched those pieces together, real careful like. I had to make sure all the edges lined up just right, otherwise, the whole thing would look wonky. I used this strong thread, ’cause I wanted it to hold up, you know?

  • Cutting the leather: This was tricky. I used a sharp knife and a ruler to make sure the lines were straight.
  • Sewing the pieces: I used a sewing machine for most of it, but some parts I had to do by hand.
  • Adding the hardware: This was the hardest part! I bought some metal pieces online that looked like the YSL logo. Gettin’ them attached was a real pain.

The linin’ was another thing. I wanted it to look nice inside, too, so I used some soft fabric I had lyin’ around. Sewin’ that in was a bit of a challenge, but I got it done. Then came the strap. I made a simple one out of leather, nothin’ too fancy. I attached it to the bag with some metal rings. And the logo, that fancy Cassandre thing? I found somethin’ similar online and stuck it on. It ain’t the real deal, but it looks close enough, I guess.

The whole thing took me a few days, workin’ on it here and there. It ain’t perfect, not by a long shot. But, you know what? I’m pretty proud of it. It looks like a YSL June Box Bag, kinda. It’s got that boxy shape, the quilted look, and even a little somethin’ shiny where the logo should be.

Was it worth it?

Honestly, I don’t know. It was a fun project, and I learned a lot. Plus, I got a bag that looks kinda like the real thing, but for way less money. But would I do it again? Probably not. It was a lot of work! Still, it’s a good conversation starter. People ask me about it, and I get to tell ’em I made it myself. That’s kinda cool, right? If ya got the money, and ya want a real nice bag, maybe this YSL June Box Bag is for you. Just remember, keep it nice. Mine, well, it’s already got a few scuffs. But that’s okay. It’s got character.
